Meet Anthea
Director and Psychologist, Anthea Kissel.
Anthea has a warm and collaborative therapeutic style and prioritises rapport to help you feel comfortable in session. She adopts a practical and person-centered approach where sessions are tailored towards your values, strengths, and goals. Her approach to therapy involves openness, empathy, humour, and the formulation of clearly defined strategies to support lasting change.
She has previously worked in both not-for-profit and private settings with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Anthea works from an attachment informed framework and draws upon a range of evidence based therapeutic models including; Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the Gottman Method in her work with couples.
Areas of interest
Anthea is experienced in supporting individuals and couples of varied backgrounds with issues relating to anxiety, depression, trauma, substance dependence, stress, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, and significant life changes. She also has a particular interest in working with couples to address problematic patterns in communication and behaviour.

Qualifications/trainings
Full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Monash University) and Graduate Diploma in Psychology Advanced (Monash University).
Member Australian Psychology Society (MAPS)
